Alabama Follows The 2021 IMC For Dryer Exhaust
Alabama has adopted the 2021 International Mechanical Code. IMC Chapter 5, Section 504 governs clothes dryer exhaust venting — including maximum length, allowable materials, termination requirements, and cleanout access. New residential installs also fall under IRC M1502. If your vent does not meet these standards, we document it in the written report and quote a repair or relocation.
